Found!
We found a very unusual critter in the pasture
while coming home after a short ride. At first we
weren't sure what it was.......

This poor dog was so matted that it couldn't walk. It
was so thirsty it had gotten stuck in the pasture trying to
drink rain water out of the hoof prints. This little one
was unbelievably patient while we rode back to the
barn. Amy sacrificed a good shirt and Black Jack was a
trooper while this little dog dripped water and mud all
over them.

As we cut and clipped we found a
dog under all the horrible matts of
fur. Aaahhhhh..... It's a Girl! It took
us almost two hours to cut off the
large mats so that she could
move freely. She does a little
dance instead of walking. She
swings her whole hip in order to
move her leg. She is being called
Jasmine by the rescue who is
handling her case. It turns out
that there was 10lbs of dog under
almost 4lbs of matted fur, mud
and debris. Jasmine is
micro-chipped and we are
currently in search of her owner of
record. We believe that she was
dumped. I hope there will be
punishment for the person
responsible for letting such a
sweet, patient little critter end up
in such a horrid predicament.
